  • Graduated from Mountain Home High School in December of 2004.
  • I was a Dean’s List student and received a bachelor’s degree in fine art with an emphasis in photography and printmaking from Arkansas State University in December of 2009.


Professional Experience


  • 2004-2005 – Employed as a docent at the Bradbury Gallery at Arkansas State University
  • 2005-2006 – Employed as a Resident Assistant in Kay’s Hall at Arkansas State University
  • 2006-2007 – Employed as a supervisor for Malco Oxford Studio Cinema
  • 2009-Persent – Self-employed as a Fine Art and Real Estate Photographer.




  • From 2004-2009, I was a member of the Printmakers’ Club.
  • From 2004-2007, I was a member of the Artist Student Union at Arkansas State University

I enjoy photography and taking long photographic excursions. I also enjoy cycling, body boarding, camping and kayaking.


Personal History

Born Candace Scott on November 7, 1985 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Eldest child of Karen and Jim Scott and older sister of Shawn Scott. Stayed in Mountain Home until leaving for college in March 2004 to attend Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Received a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts Studio in December of 2009. Married John Van Assche in January 2006. John is currently a Lieutenant in the US Navy and he is attending NPS pursuing a master’s degree in information systems technology. We moved to San Diego, CA in 2007 and resided there until moving to Monterey, CA in March of 2012.
